The 2023 IFE (International Food & Drink Event) is an important international exhibition in the food and beverage industry held annually in the UK, where buyers and industry professionals from around the world gather to showcase the latest trends and innovative products.

 

At this exhibition, Savia International primarily showcased aloe vera, coconut water, and coconut milk, and received significant attention for our new product, Popping Boba Drink. Tapioca boba is a small, spherical pearl made from tapioca starch extracted from the cassava root, with added color and flavor. It is generally dark brown or black in color and has a chewy texture. 

However, popping boba, while also spherical, offers a completely different experience. Popping boba is created through a chemical reaction known as spherification, where a gel-like skin made from sodium alginate and calcium salts contains juice-like liquid. When chewed, it bursts, enhancing the flavor of the drink.

The Popping Boba Drink attracted a great deal of attention from attendees due to its unique taste and texture of popping boba (bubble pearls) that burst in the drink. Industry professionals showed great interest in this new form of beverage and the flavor of the boba, providing positive feedback about its potential in various international markets.

Building on the valuable experience gained from the 2023 IFE, Savia International plans to continue participating in global exhibitions, introducing Korean beverages to more markets, and showcasing innovative products like Popping Boba Drink.
